At Diaspora Salon, our goal is to provide professional, innovative, and quality hair care services for all clients.

*NEW* RESERVATION FEE/ DEPOSIT POLICY

Reservation Fees are required for all appointments. These fees are credited toward your original appointment or toward costs associated with your appointment.

FOR STYLING/ CUT/ SHAPING SERVICES ONLY (non-hair color appointments)
Please read this fully: All deposits and Reservation Fees are non- refundable. If you reschedule your appointment if you follow our Cancellation/ Rescheduling Policy, the deposit/ Reservation Fee will transfer to your new date/ time, once. Rescheduled appointments must occur within 30 days.
If your request to reschedule is outside our Cancellation/ Rescheduling Policy, you will forfeit the deposit/ Reservation Fee and a new fee will need to be paid to reschedule your appointment.
For any other requests to fully cancel or reschedule, our standard Cancellation Policy is in place: You must provide at least 3 days (72 hours) notice, or you will charged for the full amount of the scheduled service.

FOR ANY SCHEDULED SERVICES THAT INCLUDE HAIR COLOR

Should you need to cancel, reschedule, or make a change to your existing appointment, you must do so by emailing us, or by calling and/ or leaving a voicemail at (410) 366-8700. We are not responsible for cancellation requests attemped but not received, requests texted or requests sent to the wrong email address.

WE UNDERSTAND SITUATIONS MAY ARISE, BUT PLEASE BE SURE OF YOUR AVAILABILITY WHEN SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT AT OUR SALON. CANCELLING AND RESCHEDULING GREATLY AFFECTS OUR BUSINESS.

RESERVING APPOINTMENTS

When reserving an appointment with us, please know that you are reserving our time, something super precious for service providers! As stated above non- refundable Reservation Fees/ deposit, and an active credit or debit card to store on file are required to secure your appointment. By providing us with your credit card information at the time of reserving your appointment, you agree to our cancellation terms of your card on file being charged if you breach our Cancellation/ Rescheduling Policy, miss your appointment time, are not prepared for your appointment (hair not taken out from a previous style, no Curly Cut prep), have heat- stretched/ damaged or permanently straightened hair that you don’t wish to remove, or do not show up. When booking an appointment at our salon, you do so at your own risk.

Appointment reminders are sent when the initial appointment is made, and sent days before your appointment requesting you to confirm your appointment. We ask that you confirm your appointment via text by following the prompts from the confirmation message (the system will ask you to reply "Yes" to confirm your appointment). We require that all appointments be confirmed no later than 72- hours before the scheduled start time (for cutting/ styling) or 96 hours (any appointments including hair color) before the start time.

CURLY & COILY HAIR STYLING & CUTTING & HAIR COLOR

Please note that Diaspora Salon works with curly and coily hair in it’s natural raw texture only.
We do not work with hair textures that have been altered by heat styling, thermally relaxed, keratins, relaxers, or texturizers. Colored hair is ok!

If you are interested in our Curly Cut service, there is a special way to prepare your hair. These are 2- part services: the first step is completed at home and the second step is completed in the salon by us. Information on how to prepare your hair at home can be found here. Failure to complete Step 1 at home and properly prepare your hair prior to your visit may result in your appointment being cancelled or you being charged a $75 Prep Fee. There are no exceptions. Please trust the process and follow our directions for best results.

IF YOU USE SHEA MOISTURE, CANTU, CAMILLE ROSE, or MIELLE hair products, YOU MUST shampoo your hair with a FULL DETOX SHAMPOO PRIOR to COMING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT or please contact us to add on a Color Prep service.

Please note: Our Curly Cuts are NOT compatible with straightening your hair or hair that is straight, heat- stretched/ heat damaged UNLESS you want the compromised hair cut off. Should you make an appointment for services and your hair is heat- stretched/ heat- damaged, or straight and you don’t want to remove that hair, your appointment will be cancelled and the card on file charged for the time you reserved with the stylist. There are zero exceptions. We work with curls in their natural curly/ coily state only unless you want that compromised hair completely removed. Please don’t attempt to bypass this.

GUESTS & CHILDREN

We work with adults 18 and over. We apologize for any inconvenience. We are also unable to accommodate guests in the salon. Please do not schedule an appointment for anyone under 18, as the appointment will be cancelled and Reservation Fee forfeited.

PRICING

Pricing at Diaspora Salon is based on the average amount of time it takes to perform the desired service, products used to complete the service and the level of skill required to perform the service. Prices listed may be increased based on length, density, preparation work performed by our staff, and/ or if additional time or product are needed to perform the service and are subject to change without notice. If you have specific questions on pricing, please inquire prior to being serviced. For color services, we are able to give close estimates only, not definite prices before the service is completed, as the price can vary for the amount of time and product needed to complete the service.

SERVICE GUARANTEE

We pride ourselves on providing all clients with fantastic service and quality customer care. We are professional, highly- skilled and experienced, and will provide you with the best hair care services possible.

If you are not satisfied with the results of your salon service, due to a possible error by us, please contact the salon within 48 hours of your appointment. We will ask you for photos of your hair, and if there is an error on our part, we are able to provide a complimentary adjustment within 5-10 business days of your appointment date. We do not offer refunds on salon services. Hair color services are guaranteed if you purchase the recommended products at the time of your appointment only.

If you’re not happy with your product purchase, you may return unopened products within 7 days of purchase for product credit. Product credit must be used toward products and cannot be used toward services. We are happy to assist in recommending different products.

TAKE DOWN SERVICES

We do not perform take- down services. Please arrive with your hair ready to be serviced– all styles should have been removed prior to arrival. If you are coming to your appointment after taking down braids or any styles that have been in for an extended period of time, please make sure to fully remove any matted tangles.

ALLERGIES, MEDICAL CONDITIONS, MEDICATIONS

We kindly ask that you advise us of any illness, injury or changes to your health status prior to any services to be conducted. We cannot be held responsible if a client does not disclose pertinent health information.

FOOD

Outside food is prohibited in the salon. Beverages are ok.
