At Diaspora Salon, our goal is to provide professional, innovative, and quality hair care services for all clients.

*NEW* RESERVATION FEE/ DEPOSIT POLICY

Reservation fees are required for all appointments until you have been to our salon at least 3 times within 6 months. These fees are credited toward toward the original appointment. All deposits and reservation fees are non- refundable and non- transferable. If you cancel or reschedule your scheduled appointment, you will forfeit the Reservation Fee; if it’s outside of our 3-4 day (3 days for styling + cuts/ 4 days for color) window, you will be charged for the full amount of the scheduled service.

*NEW* CANCELLATION & TARDINESS POLICY

With COVID- 19 restrictions, we have had to drop to 50% productivity, therefore every hour we book clients for is valuable to us. Cancelling and rescheduling appointments greatly affect our business. We understand situations occur and for that, we have the following Cancellation Policy in place:

For styling + cut only appointments: We ask that you let us know of any cancellations or reschedule requests at least 72 full hours before your appointment. Cancellations with less than 72 full hours notice (3 days from your appointment time) will be charged 100% of the service appointment.

For any appointments including hair color: We ask that you let us know of any cancellations or reschedule requests at least 96 full hours before your appointment. Cancellations with less than 96 full hours notice (4 days from your appointment time) will be charged 100% of the service appointment.

Should you need to cancel, reschedule, or make a change to your existing appointment, you may do so by emailing us, or by calling and/ or leaving a voicemail at (410) 366-8700. We are not responsible for cancellation requests attemped but not made, requests texted or requests sent to the wrong email address.

RESERVING APPOINTMENTS

When reserving an appointment with us, we will ask for a reservation fee or deposit, and an active credit or debit card to store on file to secure your appointment. By providing us with your credit card information at the time of reserving your appointment, you agree to our cancellation terms of your card on file being charged if you breach our Cancellation Policy, miss your appointment time, are not prepared for your appointment (hair not taken out from a previous style, no DevaCut or Curly Cut prep), or do not show up.

Appointment reminders requesting you to confirm your appointment with us are sent via text message and email three- to- four days in advance of all appointments- depending on the service. We ask that you confirm your appointment via text by following the prompts from the confirmation message (the system will ask you to reply "Yes" to confirm your appointment). We require that all appointments be confirmed no later than 72- hours before the scheduled start time (for cutting/ styling) or 96 hours (any appointments including hair color) before the start time).

CURLY & COILY HAIR STYLING & CUTTING

Please note that Diaspora Salon works with curly and coily hair in it’s natural texture only.
We do not work with hair textures that have been altered by heat styling, keratins, relaxers, or texturizers. Colored hair is ok.

If you are interested in our Curly Cut or DevaCut™ services, there is a special way to prepare your hair. These are 2- step services: the first step is completed at home and the second step is completed in the salon by us. Information on how to prepare your hair at home can be found here. Failure to complete Step 1 at home and properly prepare your hair prior to your visit may result in your appointment being cancelled or being charged a $75 Prep Fee. Please trust the process and follow our directions for best results.

Please note: none of our Curly Cuts, including the DevaCut™ is compatible with straightening your hair or hair that is straight. While the Prep is not required for Wash & Gos and Curl Discovery services, for best results, we definitely recommend it.

GUESTS & CHILDREN

Due to COVID- 19, we have a One- Person- Per- Appointment policy. As a result, we are unable to perform services on anyone under 18 years old, as we can’t refuse a guardian to attend an appointment with their minor child, and we can’t have more than one person in the salon per appointment. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are also unable to accommodate guests.

PRICING

Pricing at Diaspora Salon is based on the average amount of time it takes to perform the desired service, products used to complete the service and the level of skill required to perform the service. Prices listed may be increased based on length, density, preparation work performed by our staff, and if additional time or product are needed to perform the service. Prices are subject to change without notice. If you have specific questions on pricing, please inquire prior to being serviced. For color services, we are able to give close estimates only, not definite prices before the service is completed, as the price can vary for the amount of hair color used to complete the service.

SERVICE GUARANTEE

We pride ourselves on providing all clients with fantastic service and quality customer care. We are professional, highly- skilled and experienced, and will provide you with the best hair care services possible.

If you are not satisfied with the results of your salon service, due to a possible error by us, please contact the salon within 24 hours of your appointment. We will ask you for photos of your hair, and if there is an error on our part, we are able to provide a complimentary adjustment within 5-10 business days of your appointment date. We do not offer refunds on salon services.
 

ALLERGIES, MEDICAL CONDITIONS, MEDICATIONS

We kindly ask that you advise us of any illness, injury or changes to your health status prior to any services to be conducted. We cannot be held responsible if a client does not disclose pertinent health information.

FOOD

All food is prohibited in the salon. Beverages are ok.
 

PAYMENT

We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple and Google Pay, cash, and Diaspora Salon gift cards. We do not accept checks.
